Manage Your Workspace

Datasets are the raw materials behind your analysis and might be used in a number of different projects. They are stored in the datasets panel of a team's dashboard. Maintain order by renaming a dataset or deleting ones you don't need anymore.

You can only access datasets that are located in the dashboard of the team you are currently working in.

"Data is a precious thing and will last longer than the systems themselves."

- Tim Berners Lee

Renaming Datasets

When your data has uploaded, its name is inherited from your local file. This might not always be practical now that you are collaborating on projects.

It's much easier for everyone if datasets are given specific and clear names.

How to Rename Datasets?

  1. Start from the 'Datasets' panel of your Graphext workspace.
  2. Find the dataset you want to rename.
  3. Select the 3 dots at the far right of the dataset card.
  4. Select 'Rename'.
  5. Enter a new name into the text box that appears.
  6. Select 'OK'.
  7. Done ... A glance at your dataset's name tells everyone about what is inside!

Deleting Datasets

A host of unwanted datasets will clog up your workspace, making it more difficult to find the important ones. Delete your datasets from the datasets panel of your team's dashboard.

Deleting a dataset will also remove the projects that have been created on top of the dataset.

How to Delete a Dataset?

  1. Start from the datasets panel in your team's dashboard.
  2. Find the dataset you want to delete.
  3. Select the 3 dots at the far right of the dataset card.
  4. Select 'Remove'.
  5. Since the action is permanent could affect your projects, make sure you want to delete this dataset.
  6. Click 'Accept'.
  7. Done ... The dataset no longer exists in your workspace!
